A series of large springs fed by underground rivers from mt. Kilimanjaro's melting snows produce lush swamps which are like real oasis in an otherwise inhospitable environment: in times of drought they form permanent watering places for the large elephant and buffalo herds, as well as for the resident hippos, wildebeests, zebras and giraffe, making this low-rainfall area one of the best wildlife-viewing experiences. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.
