Aberdare Ranges and National Park
The aberdare ranges are renowned for the botanical riches and torrential waterfalls plunging from cloud-shrouded heights to spray filled ravines. The high moorlands of the mountain ranges are ideal for wilderness trekking, complete with panoramic views, clear and tumbling streams and glorious flora. Part of the range is protected as the Aberdare National Park that encompasses a 70km long narrow massif that is branded as a world-class tourist destination and a conservation area. Interested Aberdare mountain ranges, karuru falls, Kenya’s tallest waterfalls, the 2nd largest population of black rhino; the famous kimathi post office mugumo tree and the maumau caves. Animals to look out for; Black rhino, Columbus monkeys, the elusive forest Antelop, 250 species of rare birds.
